Belvedere Film

Belvedere Film is the 1999 re-establishment of the film studio created in Vienna in 1946 by August Diglas, Emmerich Hanus, and one of the youngest of the few women in history to co-found a film studio, Vienna-born singer and pianist Elfi Dassanowsky. This first new postwar studio in Central Europe created important feature comedies, dramas, musicals as well as future star careers between 1946 and 1951.
The new Belvedere Film production company, located in Colorado and Vienna, was headed by Prof. Elfi Dassanowsky in Los Angeles until her passing in 2007. It is now headed by her son, Prof. Dr. Robert Dassanowsky, a producer, university professor, and an internationally known film historian.
Belvedere Film has produced, co-produced or executive produced award-winning film projects. It specializes in partnering with Austrian and Central European companies and projects, as well independent U.S. film and cable production venues to co-produce unique and high quality features, dramatic shorts and documentaries.
