The Vienna Film Fund subsidizes feature films for cinematic release (minimum length of 70 minutes), children’s films and documentaries (minimum length of 59 minutes) and TV movies.

The annual budget for subsidies is 11.5 Million Euro. The maximum subsidy amount is 700.000 Euro. Funding will be granted for project development, script development, film production and film distribution.

An independent jury of experts selects the films on four scheduled submission dates. The decisive criteria for receiving a subsidy are the film project’s cultural, economic and artistic significance for Vienna. At least 100% of the funds provided must be spent for employing Viennese film-industry workers, the city’s film infrastructure or for Vienna as a location.
