Beethoven Museum

The Beethoven Museum in Heiligenstadt illuminates the life and work of the classic composer in accordance with the latest scientific standards. The place has a direct connection to Beethoven's fate, for it was here that he sought healing or at least an improvement of his hearing problem. In 1802, in the house in Probusgasse, he also wrote the "Heiligenstadt Testament", the letter addressed to his brothers, but never sent, in which he expressed his despair about his progressive deafness.
