Build in 1908, the former slaughterhouse works as a venue for cultural and social activities since 1976. In the diverse program of the Arena Wien you will find concerts, international top-acts, parties, festivals, open airs, stand up comedy, theatre and open air cinemas and more.

The four former gas tanks built up in 1896 were rebuilt while a great construction from 1999 till 2001. The Gasometers have developed a city in the city-character, with over 800 apartments, a hall of residence, a music hall (capacity 2000–3000 people), shops and further more. Given the fact that the huge Gasometers are seen from afar, they are known as Simmering's landmark.
HAUS DER MUSIK is located in the former palace of Archduke Carl (1771 - 1847) in the Seilerstätte in the 1st district. Since the year 2000, the newly renovated building has been home to HAUS DER MUSIK, an interactive experience museum on the subjects of music, Viennese Classicism and sound/sound phenomena. The motif worlds revolve around classical Viennese architecture (magnificent staircase, belletage with Vienna Philharmonic Museum), museum rooms with objects on famous classical composers to modern museum design on the topics of sound production (Science Walls). Interactive games such as the Virtual Conductor or the Stairplay Sound Staircase and the innovative virtual reality laboratory Sonotopia, which was only opened in 2020, are worthy of special mention. The attic level with an event room with stage and a 2-storey event area with bar completes the classic museum operation.

Mozarthaus Vienna presents the life and work of the musical genius Wolfgang Amadé Mozart, with particular emphasis on his Vienna years from 1781 to 1791, in a unique setting in the heart of Vienna close to St Stephen’s Cathedral.
Domgasse 5 is the only one of Mozart’s apartments in Vienna that still exists today. The composer lived in Mozarthaus Vienna in grand style, nowhere else did he compose more music.
Visitors can see not only the historical apartment but also an extensive presentation of major works by Mozart and of the times in which he lived.

An exciting new venue has sprung up in the heart of Vienna, a place with a focus on young people where music and theatre meet. The building is a unique ensemble of existing baroque structures (the gatehouse and wall) and modern architecture. At the heart of MuTh is the new Concert Hall. Contrasting with the coolness of the glass and metal used in the exterior of the new construction, warm materials and strong colours are used in the Hall. The magnificent ambient sound – enriched through the use of acoustic panels and special seating – is particularly noteworthy.
The Nordlicht is an event and filming venue that skilfully combines industrial charm with clear modernity and design exclusivity. With two large rooms, Nordkapp 7 and Aurora 8, adjoining rooms such as foyer and gallery and a total of 1,500 m², all ideas can be perfectly implemented. Outside, a terrace and a porch are also at your disposal.
Our 14 x 6 meter fabric construction for visual effects above the flexible bar as well as the glass sphere elements in the corners fit perfectly into Nordkapp 7. Aurora 8 is particularly impressive with its 13th century brick vaulted ceiling and high quality plank wood floor. Both rooms have modern technical equipment and flexible lighting.
The entire location is barrier-free, offers entry for cars and large equipment through large doors, and parking is also available directly in front of the Nordlicht venue.

To coincide with the celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of Mozart's birth in 2006, the Theater an der Wien was reopened in January of that year as the new opera house of the City of Vienna. Since then, it has presented itself as an innovative "stagione" opera house. The contemporary and outstanding musical quality of the productions make the venue on Wienzeile a centre of baroque opera and modern music theatre in Vienna.
The Josefstadt Theatre is one of the most successful stages in the German speaking theatre world. It is known for the best artistic craftsmanship, high quality acting and tradition. It is not just a Viennese theatre; it is an Austrian Institution. The architecture ensures an intimate liaison between actors and audience contributing to the unique performances at the “Theater in der Josefstadt”.
The theatre was founded in 1788 to spur on the tavern’s „Bey den goldenen Straußen” profit. In 1822 demand for the theatre was so high that the small stage was replaced under the famous Biedermeier architect Josef Kornhäusel. In 1924 Max Reinhardt renovated the theatre inspired by the Teatro La Fenice in Venice.

The Tschauner Bühne, which has existed since 1909, is the last still existing improvised stage and the only summer stage in Vienna with a sliding roof. In 1987 the building was bought and renovated by the Wiener Volksbildungswerk. It was reopened in 1989. The playing season runs from mid-June to the beginning of September. Plays take place in any weather. The program offers classical improvised theater, impromptu 2.0, music theater, cabaret, music and children's programs. The house in Ottakring has 340 seats. The restaurant with garden and Heurigen atmosphere spoils guests during the playing season with both the classic Tschauner menu (Knacker and beer/sprinkles) and fine delicacies. Since 2016 Monika Erb is the new managing director of the Tschauner Bühne.
Since the season 2012/13 the Theater an der Wien presents opera productions from Baroque to modern music with their Young Ensemble (JET) at Wiener Kammeroper (founded 1953 by Hans Gabor). Located on Fleischmarkt 24 the theatre has a seating capacity of approx. 300 seats. The intimate atmosphere of its auditorium as well as a mix of art deco elements and an interior design of the 1950/60s provide the unique charm of this location.
Austria’s largest events hall was built between 1954 and 1957 according to plans by the world famous architect Prof. Dr. Roland Rainer. The list of those who have performed in front of several thousand people in the past decades reads like a who-is-who of the international sports, culture and entertainment scene. More than a million people per year visit the events hall of Wiener Stadthalle.
