The documentary DARWINS ARCHE portrays one of the largest natural history museums in the world: the Natural History Museum in Vienna (NHM). The film looks behind the scenes of this unique institution, which is both a stronghold of research and a center of scientific knowledge. The NHM, with its extensive collections, tells how it once was and what it once will. In the face of climate change, lack of resources and species extinction, the museum is increasingly witnessing what no longer exists today and will not be in the future.
