KGP Filmproduktion (KGP for short) produces feature films and documentaries for the international festival and arthouse markets, as well as for television. Founded in 2001 (as Amour Fou) and operating as KGP since 2007, the company is now run by its founder, Gabriele Kranzelbinder, and Barbara Pichler as producers. The name KGP stands for artistic daring as well as cinematic storytelling and technical excellence. Interested in the unique visions of filmmakers – beyond any constraints of genre or format – KGP realises projects that are emotionally, aesthetically and intellectually engaging, whilst always forming part of a wider social discourse.
KGP works successfully with Austrian and international filmmakers and has a particular interest in international co-productions.
