For private locations, please contact the responsible person directly to discuss filming details. For locations in the City of Vienna, filming permits must be requested via the Vienna Film Commission’s application tool.

Register a location

To register a location, you must first create an account. After that, you can add your location to the database. Your entry will be reviewed by the Vienna Film Commission before it is approved.

Your contact details will be kept confidential and will not be made public. We only share your information if a film production expresses specific interest, so they can contact you directly to discuss potential filming.

Tips for registering a new location

  • Only locations within the city limits of Vienna can be registered in our database.

  • Please describe your location in as much detail as possible. Provide relevant information such as: room height, floor, size in square meters, architectural features, and other characteristics that may be of interest for filming.

  • Assign your location to at least one or more categories.

  • Each category must be linked to a corresponding photo that illustrates it.

  • The photos must be significant and illustrative.

  • Please ensure that all uploaded photos are sharp, well-focused, and properly aligned.

  • No recognizable persons should be visible in the photos.

  • Only JPEG or PNG files can be uploaded.

  • Both the German and English versions of the entry must be completed in full before submission.
