The Association of Austrian Camera Assistants (aka Kameraschwestern) is a professional association for members of the Camera Department. It was founded in 2025.
It is aimed at like-minded people, dedicated to providing a platform for information, exchange, and solidarity among camera assistants, working full-time in the scenic field of the Austrian film industry. This applies particularly to matters such as fees, collective agreement (Kollektivvertrag), and technical and professional development. The association does not represent DoPs.
Our website was established to reach out to local and international film productions, to network within the camera department, to promote their craft, and to strengthen professional exchange. They advocate for the social, cultural, legal, and economic interests of Austrian camera assistants and their solidarity ensures that their concerns are being heard.
