Winery & Tavern Fuhrgassl-Huber
Location number: 1190015
The wine tavern was built in the 1970s by Ernst Huber in collaboration with stage designer Professor Walter von Hoesslin and impresses with its many rooms of varying sizes (20-180 people per room) and two large, terraced beer gardens (with views of the vineyards). Inside, you'll find large open fireplaces, old wine presses, and cozy tiled stoves. The walls are largely paneled in wood. From the vineyards above, there's a perfect view of Vienna's city center. The winery boasts a southern flair and an elegant paved forecourt with beautiful landscaping and illuminated sandstone sculptures. The wine cellar includes large halls with stainless steel tanks as well as a beautiful wooden barrel cellar. Between the winery and the wine tavern lies the romantic cobblestone alley, the "Fuhrgassl," after which the wine tavern is named.
