72ND ROUND TABLE - MA11
At this year’s first industry evening with MA11 – Child and Youth Services, Dr. Sonja Barton (Head of Educational Quality Assurance and Performance Permits) and Ingrid Pöschmann (Head of Public Relations and Services) provided information on performance permits for children and young people in the context of filming. They explained the legal basis of the Children and Youth Employment Act (KJBG) as well as the requirements, protective measures and the approval process for performance permits for children and young people.
Since January 1, 2025, the Austrian film industry has also been subject to the voluntary commitment to the Child Welfare Concept – a guideline anchored in the guidelines for film funding with preventive measures designed to ensure a safe and secure working environment for young people on film sets. The Child Welfare Concept was developed by an interdisciplinary working group of funding institutions, filmmakers, producers and interest groups under the expert guidance of Martina Wolf (Federal Association of Austrian Child Protection Centers) and Christine Hartenthaler (project manager).
Further information and forms can be found on the MA11 website.
