film.location.wien. Industry Talk with MA 56
Vienna Schools in Focus
During the event, Lorena Schütti, media spokesperson for MA 56, and Selma Pavic, public relations officer, provided an informative overview of the requirements for filming at schools. In addition, Gerald Ollinger guided participants on an engaging and insightful tour of the Bildungscampus Sonnwendviertel location.
For filming at schools, early coordination with all parties involved is essential. This includes clarifying technical requirements and potential costs. All applicable safety regulations must be observed. Depending on the content of the project, consultation with the education authority may be required. In addition, consent from all legal guardians must be obtained, and waste and noise should be minimized.
The approval process begins with preliminary discussions with the respective school, followed by submitting an application through the Vienna Film Commission. After review by MA 56, the filming permit is issued. Following the filming, the actual filming hours are recorded, and invoicing is carried out.
MA 56 is responsible for Vienna’s primary schools, Neue Mittelschulen, Sonderschulen, and Polytechnische Schulen. If filming is planned at a Gymnasium or private schools, contact must be made directly with the respective school administration.
