Recap: Vienna Film Commission @ Marché du Film in Cannes
As part of the Marché du Film at the Cannes International Film Festival, the Vienna Film Commission once again showcased Vienna as a film location to an international industry audience. The focus was on information regarding funding opportunities, incentives and the wide range of production facilities available in Vienna.
Together with its partners from the Austrian Film Commissions & Funds, the Vienna Film Commission also hosted the Austrian Reception, which offered numerous national and international industry representatives the opportunity to exchange ideas and network.
Furthermore, the Vienna Film Commission hosted the Welcome Dinner for this year’s edition of Producers on the Move. This renowned programme for emerging talent brings together 20 promising European producers from 20 countries annually as part of the Cannes International Film Festival, offering them a platform for networking. This year, Lixi Frank from Panama Film represented Austria in the programme.
As part of the EUFCN Brunch organised by the Producers Network, the Vienna Film Commission presented Vienna to selected producers as an attractive filming and production location.
Three Austrian productions – Gentle Monster (directed by Marie Kreutzer), Everytime (directed by Sandra Wollner) and The Dreamed Adventure (directed by Valeska Grisebach) – were also featured in the competition and in the Un Certain Regard section.
