Alfons Dahlmann, successful entrepreneur and founder of the Dahlmann meat and sausage factory, invites his three grown-up children Leander, Therese and Jochen and their entourage to his hunting lodge in the mountains for the Christmas holidays. To everyone's surprise, Alfons' fiercest rival, Leonard Windemeyer, is also on the guest list. Alfons announces to those present that he will be retiring from the company at the end of the year and will announce his successor the next day. But before he can reveal the secret, Alfons is found dead in his trashed study - a knife in his back. The young police officers Greta and Oliver take over the investigation.
