Illegal

Kodjo comes from Togo, and his asylum application has just been rejected. Living in constant fear of being discovered, he works in a small restaurant in Vienna. When he witnesses a crime, his already fragile life is thrown into turmoil: Kodjo observes a young woman being brutally attacked by a man in her apartment. When he tries to help her, the woman is already dead.

Shocked, he flees and tries to disappear into the anonymity of the big city, because the police are looking for him as the prime suspect. He finds support in Marie, the owner of the restaurant where he worked. She gives him shelter and believes in his innocence. But as Kodjo continues to be targeted by the authorities, there seems to be only one way out: he must work with Marie to find the real killer in order to save himself.
