The Austrian Filmmakers Association serves as the representative body and voice for film professionals in Austria, as well as a platform for shared cultural-policy concerns and objectives.
It represents these interests vis-à-vis policymakers, the media, and administrative bodies by actively influencing all decision-making processes relevant to the interests and activities of its members.
Experts from the association are active in all key national bodies dedicated to film and cultural policy. The association is a member of the Kulturrat Österreich (Austrian Cultural Council), which in turn is represented at the European level within Culture Action Europe. It also strives to foster networking among European film professionals. Seventeen professional associations are organized under its umbrella.
