The Augustinian Reading Room, the former library room of the Augustinian monastery, is now used as the reading room of the Austrian National Library for manuscripts and old prints. The entire room, including the ceiling, is decorated with frescoes by Johann Baptist Wenzel Bergl - one of Maria Theresa's favourite painters. Due to its historical ambience, the room conveys an almost authentic image of an 18th century library reading room.
