Seestadt is an urban development area in the northeastern part of the city. It is located about ten kilometers from the city center and covers an area of approximately 240 hectares. It is situated not far from the Lobau Nature Reserve and the Marchfeld. Its center is characterized by an artificial swimming lake with a shoreline and a wooden pier. To the south of this lie the new residential developments. The northern part has not yet been developed and, as an open meadow, offers a stark contrast to the urban areas.
