A former tennis clubhouse on a wooded island in the Danube that has been a staple of the Viennese summer for over a century. The Gänsehäufel Foundation is reimagining this space: as an independent art space, production and event venue with its own residency program. Located directly within the grounds of the Gänsehäufel beach on the Old Danube, nestled in green surroundings on the island in the 22nd district. The surroundings are open and extraordinary: not a downtown loft, not the charm of an industrial hall, but a kind of summer house with institutional aspirations, surrounded by water, trees, and swimmers. 65 m² interior, 50 m² outdoor area. Compact, yet focused. The space is raw and open in character.
