Where must the application be submitted and what are the deadlines?
The application for a performance permit for children to appear in a film shoot in Vienna must be submitted to MA 11 (Child and Youth Welfare) at least six weeks before the planned shooting date.
Under what conditions is a permit granted?
A permit is only granted if there is a special interest in art, science, or education, or if the filming is for advertising purposes, the health and development of the child is not endangered, and there are no disadvantages for school attendance.
What documents are required for approval?
Written consent from the child's legal representative
Positive opinion from the Chamber of Labor
Positive opinion from the labor inspectorate responsible for the district in which the production company is based
Medical examination (by a family doctor or pediatrician)
Opinion from an ophthalmologist
Detailed description of the scenes in which the children appear
If more than four children are involved, the data on the children must be submitted in the form of an Excel list
